Sushi!!!!!!!!!!

Well I guess you could say we had a Sushi filled weekend. Friday after going to meet Miles we went to Mikado with Micah, Lisa and Beth. It was so yummy! Saturday once again after visiting sweet baby Miles we went to Zak and Emily's house to make sushi. They had a ton of stuff and we ended up making 9 different rolls. I was actually suprised at how simple it really was. It was alot of fun to make it and see the end results. I think I might invest in my own sushi making stuff. Ian is really not a big fan of sushi but he was a really good sport and found a couple of rolls he liked. Thanks Em and Zak for having us over. By the way, in the pictures there is two rolls falling apart.....that was Ian's creation....he is super special!

Sweet Grandma

My sweet Grandma passed away early Friday morning. Over the past few weeks I have been able to spend a lot of time with her and for that I am extremely grateful. Ian and I have been to see her almost every other day for the past month and I learned a lot about my Grandma during these visits. Even with all of the hardships that have faced her when we would enter the room she would immediately be concerned about how we were doing that day and would always have a smile on her face. Thursday night I had a strong impression that we needed to head over to visit. I am so glad that we were able to go over that night and spend a few hours in her company. I hate that a lot of times it takes something sad to make you remember how important family is. I am so grateful for the life lessons that my grandma taught me and will not forget what a great influence she was on my life. I hope that I can take a few of the qualities that she taught me by example and apply them to my life. I hope I look this good at 89.

Happy Birthday Marcus!

Today my oldest brother is turning 30!!!!! I like to make fun of him alot telling him that he is an old man. Marc is a great brother and always willing to help us when we need him. I love him very much and I am very glad to have him in my life. Happy Birthday Marc.....you old geezer!

The Birthday celebration!!!!

We had a very busy but fun filled weekend of birthday celebrations. My Brothers birthday is 2 days after Ian's so Friday night we went out to dinner to celebrate both. We went to Texas Road house and had some much needed red meat. YUMMY! Friday morning I went to a baby shower for Maeve and then we went to dinner with Mike and Beth. This time we went to a delicious mexican place called El Farol. Ian and I eat here often and it's one of Mike and Beth's favorites so everyone was happy. Sunday after a long day at church( the kids in our primary class were out of control) we headed up to Mike and Beth's for Birthday dinner with the family. We had the most delicious pork loins and lots of other yummy sides. Monday Ian and I both took the day off and headed up to Wolf Mountain to go skiing. It was my first time ever so it was alot of fun. Ian was a good teacher but by the end of the day he was trying to convince me to do the big hills and I was having none of that. I think I did decent for never having been on the snow before. Today I am hurting and did something crazy to my knee but I am super excited to go out again. We are pooped from our long busy weekend but we had alot of fun.
