Roughin' it!
W
Friday we packed up our sleeping bags, guns, weenie roasters and camp chairs and headed out to white rock with Zak and Emily. We got there just after dark and set up camp. We started a nice fire and threw in the tin foil dinners. We stayed up late roasting marshmallows and hanging out. When we woke up Saturday morning we decided to hike up white rock. Needless to say this was probably not the smartest idea considering when we got to the top the winds were blowing so hard I had to crawl around so I wouldn't get blown off the edge. From there we headed out into the desert and had a lot of fun shooting our guns. We had a clay pigeon thrower that we used to test our aim. I guess I am not the best shot in the world.....or in Ian's words " YOU HAVE THE WORST AIM I HAVE EVER SEEN. " Thanks for the confidence booster babe. Anyways, to make a long story short this was real camping with no toilets or running water. I have a feeling we will be camping quite a bit with Zak and Em this year, it was a lot of fun.

Apple dumplings!!!!!
Okay........a while ago my sister-in-law Holly posted a recipe that looked divine. She got it off of the Pioneer woman cooks website. I decided to give it a shot last night. IT WAS TO DIE FOR. Even some members of my family who "don't like warm fruit" thought it was fabulous. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple easy dessert. Sorry the finished product picture is a half eaten pan. They smelled so good when they came out of the oven we dished it up before I could take a picture. Thanks Holly for the idea!

Happy 90th birthday Grandpa..........

This past Saturday we had a surprise 90th birthday party for my Grandpa! We had family fly in from California, Idaho, St. George and tons of other places to be here. It was hard to keep it a secret but I think we actually did. We met up at Cowboy Grub which is one of my Grandpa's favorite restaurants and waited patiently for him to get there. The look on his face was priceless. After lunch we went to his house and watched an awesome video made by my uncle and my mom about his life. It was really nice to have the family together. Happy Birthday Gramps!

Happy Birthday "D"
Friday was my older brothers 27th birthday. We went to have some yummy and surprisingly inexpensive sushi at Kyoto. I can't say enough about how awesome my brother is. We spend alot of time with him and he is always willing to help us out. I am very lucky to be blessed with a family that spends alot of time together and gets along well. Love you Dust Happy Birthday!
