Ian's dreams have finally come true..............

We both love to travel but share the same concerns about traveling. When you plan a big vacation you spend months anticipating it and then in what seems like the blink of an eye it's over and done with and all we have left is pictures. Because of this fact we have decided to make our vacationing a little more sporadic so that we really enjoy the vacations we do get to take.
To give us the sensation of getting out and away from home we have been talking a lot about camping. We both love to camp and spend time outdoors so camping is a good fit for us. I don't mind spending a night or two roughing it, but anymore than that and I start to long for a toilet , shower and a bed out of the dirt. For about 3 years now my husband has been trying to talk me into buying a camp trailer. I have been very reluctant because contrary to popular belief, I hate spending large amounts of money. Even though I knew it would be a lot of fun and that it would get well used I have held strong. Until yesterday.......................................
We have been looking on KSL at some used trailers and have even gone to look at some in person. When I saw one listed on KSL yesterday for a killer price I knew that it was now or never. So at about 8 o'clock last night Ian and I with my parents behind us on the Harley, headed out to take a look. We were really impressed with what we saw and even more impressed with the honesty of the sellers. It is a used trailer so naturally it has a few minor problems and they made sure to disclose everything to us. After some thought and consideration we were on our way home, with the trailer in tow. We are really excited about our new purchase and can't wait to go camping........Now if we could just find a weekend to getaway!

Happy Birthday Kelsee

Well its that time of year again its Kelsee's Birthday She is a old twenty two years of age now and well she sure does love her birthday she thinks everyone is celebrating her birthday with her. For those of you who thought the fourth of July had something to do with our country gaining independence from England well your wrong! The fireworks are for Kelsee and she will even tell you that.

My wife is great and everyone knows that she is beautiful and obviously she has a lot of patience to be able to put up with me. She is very loving although most of her love does go towards Lilly. She is also very forgiving and she always takes good care of me. She is a great housewife and is even a good sport when I told her she needed to start cooking me meals that my mother makes at home. She didn't even get offended when I gave her the recipes. Kelsee is the greatest wife in the world and our little puppy will tell you she has the greatest mom also. So on this day just remember the firework stands are all for Kels. Happy Birthday Babe I love You

Taylorsville Dayzz and lots of weekend fun!!!!!!

This past weekend was one of my favorite weekends of the entire year. It is Taylorsville Dayzz!!! We started out the weekend with a motor cross race at RMR. We were up early Saturday morning to get a good spot along the parade route. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I am a parade freak. I love parades and try to go to as many as possible each year. After the parade we headed up to Gateway to see Kung Fu Panda with our nieces and nephew on the Johnston side. After the movie we headed over to the Blaze playoff game. It was a lot of fun but very disappointing when they lost. After the game we went to my parents house for a BBQ and then walked over to Taylorsville Dayzz for the fireworks.

Another inters ting fact that most people don't know about me is that I LOVE Neil Diamond. So just my luck that there was a Neil Diamond impersonator at Taylorsville Dayzz. He works at a show in Las Vegas and he was amazing. He looked , talked and sang the part very well. After his show we settled down for a really good firework presentation.

Sunday after church we drove up to Smith and Moorehouse to scout out a camp spot for an upcoming trip we have planned for August. We were surprised to learn that most of their camp spots are reserved for the rest of the season. We made an executive decision to also drive up to Mirror lake to look for some camp sites up that way. I was shocked to see how much snow there was up there and also how cold it was. Hopefully when we go up in August the snow will all be melted. While we were up by the lake we saw a ton of wild life. Probably about 30 deer, a moose, an elk, two beavers and a lot of chipmunks. Being up there made me want to camping right away. Anyways that was our weekend in a nutshell. (sorry for the lack of punctuation and grammar) My allergies are out of control and I am drowsy from Benadryl mixed with a late night.

I'm torn.......................

and I need some opinions. I have long contemplated buying a Kitchenaid stand mixer. I have gone back and forth numerous times about whether I actually would use one. I am by no means Racheal Ray or the Pioneer women nor do I bake alot but I do remember a few times when it would have been very usefull. One specific time is when I make Barefoot Contessa's coconut cream cheese cupcakes. That recipe is difficult with out the stand mixer. I have a hand held Kitchenaid mixer that I use often so do I really need both? And if I do need it which size do I get? The large one would be nice but I don't have much counter space to put it. I need some opinions..............All of you fabulous ladies with mixers how much do you use them and which size do you have. Why do the dang things have to be so expensive? And why didn't I buy one with Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards when I had them from our wedding? Still kicking myself about that. P.S. It's a good thing Ian rarely reads our blog or he would be saying I told you so. (he tried to talk me into buying one with our gift cards)

Help me out ladies!!!!!!!!

Lilly, Mommy and Daddy weekend!!!!

Monday through Friday we start to feel a little bad because Lilly is by herself all day. So we have made it our goal on weekends to do as many activities as possible that involve Lilly so she doesn't have to spend more time at home alone. This weekend we made almost every activity something that she could participate in. This past weekend we both took Friday off for a vacation that later fell through. Since we already had the day off we decided to take advantage of it and go hiking in Mill creek Canyon. We had a lot of fun on a pretty easy hike. It was a really nice temperature and really pretty. After our hike we had a picnic up the canyon. I had sort of forgot this canyon existed and we were excited to see how close it was to us. That night we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Tepanyaki. We were really disappointed to find out that they raised their already expensive prices. (Lilly did not participate in this activity) On a side note, I can not stand to have a dirty dog. Lilly gets a bath at least a few times a week. When we got home from hiking it was straight to the bathtub for bath number one of the weekend. Saturday we decided to take Lilly and Izze(my parents puppy) to the Sandy puppy park. Lilly and Izze were the smallest ones there but they had a lot of fun playing with the big dogs. They also had a lot of fun running in the mud so they went straight into the bath number two of the weekend when we got to my parents. We didn't think they would do good together in the bath tub but they were actually really well behaved. This was their first bath together so I had to snap a picture. Sunday we decides to head back up Millcreek for some more hiking and a BBQ with my family. We got up there at about 3 o'clock and didn't get home until about 9. We are looking forward to the opening of the top half of the canyon next week so we can go hike to Dog Lake with the puppies. Who knows if they will swim but it will be fun anyways. While we were up they canyon these stupid flies would not leave us alone. They especially loved Lilly so we sprayed her down with bug spray, which leads us to bath number three. I don't know about you but I think I have the cleanest dog around. Three baths in three days............I think that's more than a lot of people bathe.

I am very aware that I am a slacker........

and that I don't update my blog enough. Well truthfully our life lately has consisted of root canals, work, race track, work, sleeping, work and cleaning house. So as you can see not much to blog about. Hopefully we will have something exciting to blog about after this weekend. One more thing........the countdown is on. My birthday is 2 weeks from tomorrow. For those of you who don't know my birthday is pretty much the best day of the year. Not only is it the day of my birth but it also kick starts my 2nd favorite month of the year.(Right behind December) I love everything about July including the parades and fire works. Who doesn't love their birthday? The world revolving around me (sigh)........it doesn't get much better than that. LOL I crack myself up!
