Under the knife!!!!

Sweet little Lilly May is going to be going under the knife tommorrow morning. She has a Histioctoma on her leg that we are getting removed. Wish us luck because I will be a nevous wreck all day!

Twister!

Well on Sunday night it was off to the Roethel house for dinner which ended up like this. We busted out the Twister that had about an inch of dust on the top and decided to play. It was really fun and we have decided to do it alot more often.

A year in review........

It has been brought to my attention that I am horrible at updating my blog......so here is one to feed everyones hunger. :) Here are a few of our favorite activities in 2007:

-Puppy School with Lilly ( I know it sounds boring to some but we honestly really enjoyed it and looked forward to it every week)

-Lilly in general (Lilly has been a huge part of our lives this past year. For those of you that don't know Lilly was my Christmas present last year from Ian. I was suprised with her on Christmas Eve at Ian's parents house. Lilly goes everywhere with us and is a huge part of our little family. Not an hour goes by without our conversation some how leading back to little Miss Lilly May.

-Trips to the cabin in Park City (We have been lucky enough to have access to a beautiful cabin a few times this year. Ian's old mission companion has been building a beautiful cabin and has let us use it a few times. It has a nice theater and hot tub that we have taken advantage of many times.)

-San Diego Family vacation ( Ian and I took a trip to San Diego for a week with my family. We had alot of fun and did alot of things including; Sea World, Disneyland, Tijuana and Ensenada.)

-Fourth of July activities (I love all things about this holiday including the parades. We didn't go to as many this year as last because we were out of town. I also love the Fourth because my birthday is 2 days before.)

-My first trip to Bear Lake ( We went up for the Bingham family reunion and I loved it.)

-Getting sealed ( After a long process we were finally able to be sealed the day after Thanksgiving...YAY! )

-Christmas ( I am an absolute Christmas fanatic. I had our tree up 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and teared up a bit when I had to take it down. I am sort of in deppresion right now...January is a hard month for us Christmas nuts!)


Now a few things we are looking forward too in 2008:

-a much needed cruise to the Carribean
-family reunions with both of our families
-Ian being one year closer to finishing school
-doing some improvments on our house
-camping and 4 wheeling
-

Sub for Santa!!!!

At our church we have a sub for Santa tree where you take an ornament and buy a gift for a child who doesn't have much. We chose a 18 month old girl who's parents had just asked for diapers. We are planning on doing more than that so that hopefully she can have a really nice Christmas. It really made me think about how fortunate I was when I was little. I recieved so many gifts that I wouldn't even take the time to look at one before I moved on to the next. Ian and I have decided that we are going to do a sub for Santa every year to help a child who wouldn't be getting anything otherwise. We have been thinking alot lately about how we can buy Christmas for all the children in our family without breaking the bank and without buying them things they already have. With our nieces and nephews numbering 7 1/2 and growing rapidly it can sometimes be a hard task. All the kids in our families are very fortunate to have parents that are able to provide them with a nice place to live and everything that they need. We came up with an idea that I think is a pretty good one. With the money and time that we usually spend on buying the children in our families presents we are going to use that money toward a child who would be getting nothing else. I think this is a good idea for many reasons but especially because we can share with the kids in our life that by them giving up one present from their aunt and uncle that they were able to help a little kid who really needed a nice coat to keep them warm or shoes to keep their little feet dry. Hopefully when our nieces and nephews get a little older they will learn what a great thing they are doing and in the future will be able to help us pick out the gifts that they give to a child who is less fortunate. We love our nieces and nephews so much and think that this really is the best thing that we could give them for Christmas. This year is a little late to get it started but hopefully next year we can set aside a day that all of the older kids can go with us to help pickout the present that they will give to a kid who would really enjoy it. This really made me think about how fortunate I am to have such nice things and such a great family that I can share it with. I hope everyone has a great Holiday season and keeps in mind what the Holidays are really about. Merry Christmas everyone!

A Snowy weekend!

Well our weekend started out Friday night with an unexpected house guest. Ian received a phone call at about 10:00 from his friend Rand that works at a nearby mall. He was on his way back to Kaysville when he decided to call us and see if he could spend the night at our place because the roads were horrid. So he came and had a sleepover but was on his way back to work the next morning by 6:00. Ian and I drove up to Kaysville early the next morning so he could take his final at the DATC. We then stopped by to see Carly and Oliver's place in Layton. We had never been there so it was nice to see where they live. We went out to breakfast with them at Doug and Emmy's and then headed back down to West Jordan. When we got hom it was time to take Lilly to see Santa. Petsmart had Santa at their store so we took her to get her picture taken. It was like $8.00 for the picture and the frame but $5.00 of it went to homeless pets. We then headed up to my Grandpa's house so Ian could take a look at his leaky kitchen faucet. We spent a while up there hanging with my Uncle and Aunt and playing with my little cousins. Sunday it was up time to get up early to head to church. We then headed up to Farmington to Brad's Birthday dinner. We had haystacks (Yummmy)! Happy Birthday Brad!

Our Holiday weekend!

We had a very very busy Holiday weekend. We started it out Wednesday night with a trip to our favorite place Texas Road House. We spent Thanksgiving with the Johnston's and a yummy dinner. Black Friday started early for me with a parade that my niece MaKayla was in. It was so freakin cold outside I thought I might loose a limb or two. When MaKayla passed us she had taken her gloves and headband off and had snot frozen to her face. She was hilarious just loving every second of it. Then we were off to a really nice lunch before our sealing(thanks to Mike and Beth). Then we moved on to The Jordan River Temple for the best part of our weekend. That night we spent the evening with some of my family who was in from out of town. Saturday was a bitter day for me as we watched the Utes loose to the nasty Cougars.......But next year will be different. At this game I decided two things 1-BYU coeds are IDIOTS( we sat in the student section and I might of pulled my hair out if I heard one more moronic comment from some stupid girl who had no idea what she was talking about) and 2- Ian and I should probably get tickets at opposite ends of the stadium so we don't kill each other. Anyways if you can't tell I am still a bit angry. Sunday was basically our day to recoop from the busy weekend. We hung out and watched movies all day. Cruising!

Ian and I are trying to plan a fun vacation for us to take next year. We are thinking about doing a cruise. Does anyone have any suggestions about where or where not to go? Or maybe what cruise lines are the best?????? If you have any suggestions please let me know!
